The Jr Whip-Purs 7U team is designed for players 7 years old and under. This division focuses on developing fundamental football skills, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and safety, while providing age-appropriate competition. Additional Player eligibility is determined by their age as of July 31st of the current season.
Teams follow Pop Warner guidelines, which emphasize safety through age based divisions and require all coaches to be certified. Players participate in regular practices, league games, and possibly postseason playoffs, adhering to Pop Warner's commitment to academic achievement alongside athletic performance.
The 7U division offers a balance of competitive play and player development, ensuring a fun and educational experience that prepares athletes for more advanced levels. Teams are able to advance to the State tournament during postseason play. Additional rules apply for the safety of the young players, with coaches present on the field. It is the first year of competitive play, with scores kept and win/losses recorded for standings.
Athletes in this division receive guided instruction from coaches to improve their understanding of the game, with opportunities to practice core techniques such as blocking, tackling, passing, and game strategy. The goal is to ensure each player develops confidence, enjoys the game, and builds a solid foundation for future success.
This level is ideal for players who are new to football or who need additional experience before moving to competitive divisions. A great opportunity for those younger siblings to get off the sideline and into the action!
